However, the public is not fully aware of the law. Nor are there any consequence for not following the law. LGUs and barangay officials, HOAs even individual citizens are pointing fingers on who should be doing what to ensure these laws are enforced and implemented.
"Advocacy is not just about influencing public policy, but also and first of all about influencing public opinion. "
For the past 2 years, the Bokashi Pinoy Movement have been raising awareness on those 2 persistent issues through public speaking, seminars, workshops and social media to ask for public opinions regarding our role in the implementation of these laws in our own households and our communities. However, we realized that the level of awareness of the public is almost at level zero.
" ADVOCACY comes from the Latin "advocare" meaning "to call out for support"
Hence, we are also calling out for your support because we cant do this without massive action.
most of the time advocacy is defined as speaking on behalf of others, one of its aims must be raising the public’s consciousness about a particular issue.
We also tried to speak on behalf of landless farmers and farm owners who seemed to be at a loss on where to start in terms of rehabilitating their land. But before we can even help - they have to realize what the issue is .
The message is clear - it is not just the government's role to address the issue cited above, we have the power to influence changes as well as create a ripple effect based on our power to purchase. Therefore, providing relevant information to make those informed decisions is critical in this day and age.
We are bombarded with conflicting messages in social media - we need talented individuals, driven and fueled by passion and willing to be unified by a single vision of diverting food waste away from landfills one bucket at a time, rehabilitating our soil so that it can grow food naturally, and creating a circular economy around it.
Since the Enhanced Community Quarantine, we have realized that our current strength is in raising awareness and educating the public. Hence, we need more volunteer Trainers / Mentors - the Job Description is here.

It is more than just selling a Bokashi Starter kit, its also about spreading the message - the issue at hand and the possibilities if we have a shared vision, shared goals and objectives as well as shared experiences to make it more FUN and less taxing. We are all social beings anyway - so if swimming against the tide is one of the things you find yourself in - chances are you belong to our TRIBE. Come and Join us! We are better together!
So, if you are reading this and you know you can help us continue this advocacy, in cash or offering your services - please send us a message.

The P100 you pay for the 30 day live mentoring to help you be successful throughout the challenge will be given to the tireless, dedicated and passionate volunteer mentors of Bokashi Pinoy.

The greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter.

Advocacy Not Activism
Advocacy Not Activism - drives accountability. It is the one that creates lasting changes. Advocacy is the voice inside your head that says - "change begins with me".
