Founder and President
Lanie Francisco is the Founder of Bokashi Pinoy, a social enterprise with a vision to divert food waste away from landfills to regenerate agricultural lands towards food sustainability. She authored and developed the 30 Day Garbage to Garden Challenge, a behavior modification program that helps the participants to build the habit of segregating and treating their food waste with Bokashi. According to her, the program promotes the “Think Bokashi First” mantra when dealing with household waste. Once the food waste is treated, it is easier to segregate other premium recyclables like PET Bottles and Used Cooking Oil.
She lived and worked in Singapore for 16 years before deciding to go back to the Philippines to start natural farming.
Through her immersion in a farming community in
Nueva Ecija, she have seen the plight of landless farmers. Eventually she realized that the socio-economic issues in the Philippines is intertwined with Climate Change.
She is now a Climate Reality Leader.
